Lianet Vazquez, Herbert Scoville Jr. Peace Fellow


Lianet joined BASIC’s Washington office in February 2014 as a Herbert Scoville Jr. Peace Fellow. She graduated summa cum laude in 2013 with a BA in Political Science and a BS in Biology from the University of South Florida. Her research background includes Middle East peace and conflict. In 2012, she interned at the Center for Democracy and Community Development in Jerusalem, and the following year, she was awarded the Gilman International Scholarship to study abroad in Jordan, where she learned Arabic and volunteered as an English teaching assistant at a Palestinian refugee camp.
