Ambassador Jonathan Dean
Jonathan Dean has been adviser on international security issues to the Union of Concerned Scientists since 1984. He works on issues related to national and European security, arms control and international peacekeeping. His Foreign Service career started in 1950, and he was the U.S. representative and deputy representative to the NATO–Warsaw Pact force reduction negotiations in Vienna 1973–1981. He is the author of three books including Ending Europe’s Wars, an evaluation of post-Cold War security in Europe and Russia.
