Developments as NATO's April Summit Approaches
As the April summit in Washington draws near,
BASIC and its network of colleagues in the US and Europe will
be monitoring developments and offering opinions about the
way forward for NATO. BASIC and NETS will offer reports and
analysis of the statements and events leading up to the summit,
especially on the issue areas included on NATO's April agenda.
Each section below features a chapter from the
BASIC report, A Risk Reduction Strategy
for NATO (February 1999) analyzing key summit issues,
followed by updates and reports on these issue areas from
the Network on European & Transatlantic Security (NETS)
and others.
